Today, I’d like to recommend this highly insightful video on how men also suffer from sexual assault, and the way media often dimishes the importance of this situation. Be warned, the video does talk about some sensitive subjects such as rape and sexual harassement. I think videos like this are necessary to create a more open dialogue on equality,…[Read more]

Been thinking about immigration and immigration culture here in Mexico. It’s inspired me to try my hand at some new art, hopefully I’ll capture the concept properly! #Immigration #Art

Some screenshots for my art project. We had to use the work of Bill Viola as inspiration, and adapt the use of water into our own theme. My theme is “The Unknown”, meaning that I use a lot of improvisation to arrive to my finished piece. This video is only one example of this, I used a limited amount of materials and time to create the video.…[Read more]

Just finished Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie yesterday. Extremely powerful book, it really made me see moving to the USA in a whole new light. It’s always interesting to read the experiences from other poc and the different issues they face.

My art teacher asked me about the video I made for a project a while ago. He said he was super confused while watching it, which was good because that’s exactly what I was trying to make the viewer experience. I’ll be sure to let you know what my final grade is, haha #Teacher #School #Project #GumballVV

A picture my debate coach took from the last debate tournament. I placed in fifth place for the Best Speaker Award! It was really exciting, considering there were over 30 debate teams participating! #Winner #Debate #BestSpeakerAward

Phew! It’s been a while since I updated, I went to a debate tournament both yesterday and today; preparing for it sucked up all of my free time! We prepared motions such as “THS military retaliation as a legitimate response to cyber attacks by foreign state and non-state actors” and “THR the trend towards privatization in the petroleum industry…[Read more]

Spent two hours today working on my art final, with the theme “The Unknown”. I’ll upload some pictures of what I’ve got so far later, but I’m quite happy with how it’s coming along. Kermit the Frog was featured in today’s piece ;) #Art #Work #Finals

The first ever LFM tournament took place this school year! I was so honored to be chosen to give a speech at the opening ceremony! Being team captain sure has it’s perks ;) #LFM #Tournament #Proud #Speech

  • If you want some food for thought, take a look at this TED talk! My philosophy teacher showed it to us when we were studying the human language and I must say it is very interesting. #Philosphy #TEDtalks #Lera Boroditsky #Language

  • Another picture from last year’s Grimm tournament! I acted as a bit of a mentor to the new debate kids, since they are novice debaters and I’m varsity! #Debate #Mentor #Captain #Tournament

  • If you’re interested in learning more about the work of the amazing Travis Alabanza, make sure to watch the TED talk they did in 2017! I can’t express just how much I look up to them! #TravisAlabanza #Inspiration #LGBT+

  • I often find inspiration in the written word, especially when it comes from LGBT+ artists! I would highly recommend following Travis Alabanza’s work, for they have a fresh and interesting take on the poc and LGBT+ experience.
